BERG LLC
The Challenge
BERG LLC is a Boston-based biopharma company driving next generation drug and diagnostic development by combining patient-driven biology and Bayesian AI. One of BERGs founders, Dr. Niven R. Narain, and his team at BERG had collected a vast array of data relating to cancer treatment that they wanted to publish and were looking for science editors and statisticians to help them to develop multiple manuscripts for submission to high impact journals (Scientific Reports and Breast Cancer Research and Treatment).
The Solution
Dr. Narain provided PhD|Advantage with a first draft of each manuscript and their figures with the remit for our handling editors with strong backgrounds and expertise in biomedical sciences to format them following journal guidelines, to improve their narrative flow and proofread their content.
Initial phone consultations were set up with the handling editor, Dr. Narain and the corresponding author for each manuscript to discuss the project.
Following a first round of editing, the clients had the opportunity to provide feedback before a final round of revisions were made. Phone consultations were used, when necessary to discuss these revisions.
After the client had approved a final draft, each manuscript was sent to a member of the PhD|Advantage team that had not previously been involved in the project to perform a final proofread. Each project took 26 business days to complete.
